How to make your brows last the full five weeks.

Most of the longevity comes down to the first 24 hours and a couple of habits. Here's what works.

Before your appointment

If you're booked for a brow tint or lamination:

  • Stop using retinol, AHA, or BHA products on or around the brow area at least three days before your appointment. These thin the skin and can react with the lamination solution.
  • Don't get a fresh sunburn or significant tan in the brow area in the few days prior — the same skin sensitivity issue applies.
  • Come with clean brows. No brow soap, gel, or pomade on the day of.
  • Eat something an hour beforehand. Threading and waxing are easier on a non-empty stomach.

The first 24 hours

This is the window that determines how long the lamination holds. Treat your brows like a fresh perm.

  • Do not get your brows wet for 24 hours. No showering directly on the face, no swimming, no steam.
  • No sweat-heavy workouts. Skip the sauna, hot yoga, and the cardio class.
  • Don't touch them. Hands carry oils that interfere with the bond.
  • Sleep on your back if you can manage it — pressing newly laminated hairs into a pillow flattens them in awkward directions.

The first week

  • Brush them upward with a clean spoolie each morning. This is the single highest-leverage habit.
  • Apply castor or brow oil at night to keep the hairs nourished. A drop is enough.
  • Avoid oil-based makeup removers near the brow — they break down tint faster than you'd think.

Weeks two through five

  • Continue the brushing and oiling. Once a day is plenty.
  • Mineral sunscreen on the brows extends tint life noticeably — UV is what fades the colour.
  • Tint typically reads on the skin for four to six days, then on the hair itself for up to two weeks. Lamination structure holds three to five weeks depending on your hair growth.

What's normal — and what isn't

Some mild redness or sensitivity for an hour or two after a service is normal, especially around the brow line. If you experience any of the following, get in touch immediately:

  • Persistent itching, burning, or rash beyond a few hours.
  • Visible swelling or hives.
  • Brows that feel brittle, dry-snapping, or breaking off in clumps.
